Overstuffed

Postby byrdiebop » Tue Dec 27, 2011 3:45 pm

So I decided to sit down and eat my fish bc my guy was starving.
Little did I know this certain fish fills hunger like 50% each time.
Now I have fish pouring out of my ears, nose and eyeballs
and it seems like it will take a long time before I can walk normal again.
Im only crawling now.
Is there anything I can do to make my food level go down considerbly?

Restoring stamina and HP makes you hungry. Handplow and drink water, or put some leeches on.

If you have a transportation project you've been putting off because of the boredom involved, such as a journey that requires you to portage your boat a long way this is your opportunity. You can only walk at crawl anyway; carrying your boat will burn off the excess food more quickly than just shuffling along with no burden.

The same goes if you have to haul logs or a cart over unpaved ground. Might as well carry them while over stuffed as work yourself to starvation at a time when keeping yourself fed is inconvenient.

If you have a paving project on the go you can park your character by a boulder and chip stone and lay pavement to burn off the food.

None of these methods are fast but they do help get you through projects that otherwise might be exasperating.

Thanks a lot guys. All of the methods worked well. Using the leeches to drain my health, and then my hunger level to replenish, worked incredibly fast. ( just saying. ) It also gave me the chance to make bloated leeches.

Ah... swimming is such a good stamina drain that it is NOT recommended. The moment you run out of stamina you drown and that is less than the distance across most rivers for most players. My current character might make it two tiles. So save swimming for when you have jinormously high stats.

Swimming got a major change either at the start or sometime during w5. You can go about 8-9 tiles now with just 10 Con. I'll agree that it's not something new players should be doing until they have higher Con and know how to avoid some of the hazards of the system. (Bitza is just trolling the forums....)

Sitting in a low quality chair while low on stamina also works.

As far as I know, the fastest safe method to drain hunger is to sprint while drinking water.

Oh but swimming is a legitimate stamina drain. It's just a better idea to not sit there idle and to map it to move across a body of water you're sure you can transverse. This way you can safely and rapidly drain stamina. As long as you've clicked the opposite shore even lagg won't stall you in the water and drown you.
