Edelweiß Value?

I'm confused by something. When I check most trade threads in Apples and Oranges, the people who ask for curiosities usually seem to want Floatsam, Bluebells, or Pearls. Now there's nothing strange about that, but why don't I see people asking for Edelweiß as often? I mean...isn't it superior to say, floatsam for example? Infact, in the threads that use a point system to determine price, if Edelweiß is even on the list, it has a lower point value than floatsam. I figured it would be because they're common or something, but I've only found 1 so far with 1900 perc*explo. This has always confused me, but I'm sure it's just something I'm missing. Anyone care to explain it to me?

Edelweiß is relatively easy to gather for developed villages. Therefore it is not valued as highly as the other more rare good curiosities. That is also the reason why nobody asks for glimmermoss.

Most villages are able to forage Edelweiß on their own fairly consistently. Their commonness makes them less valued in trade threads.

Eidelweiss are in fact fairly common, its just they are hard to spot - with 1900 per*exp you are missing almost all of them (the minimum to spot them is ~1600 iirc, which means you only spot all of them at 6400).

They are fantastic curios however. I would use eidels, and save your flotsams for trading if you need to trade. Also flotsams are annoying to use (and strictly worse compared to eidels) if you cannot log in every few hours to swap them out
