strange disappearances

Postby Dragonsdale » Tue Jan 03, 2012 4:27 pm

recently a lot of things have gone missing around my house. items in crates, my chicken coop and quern...
At first I suspected thieves and vandals, but then stuff I was wearing began to disappear.
Anyone else experienced this?
what is going on?

I don't know... recently my game logged me out, I logged back in quickly and I had not moved but my armour was gone.
not lying around or anything. completely gone.
and my crops are untouched, great treasures left undisturbed. it seems rather random in what disappears...

Ok, the next person trolling the help forums is gonna get a free ban from me.

I think this guy is serious and it sounds more like a bug to me actually. I doubt there is anybody who could summon you, steal your clothes and then let you live in the few minutes you have been logged out according to your own informations.

Do you have a claim on your land?

Someone could be trying to mess with you ingame. When you say your chicken coop and quern disappeared, do you mean the are entirely no longer there?

There is either some bug that's occuring, or your account isn't secure. Thieves/vandals would explain the coop and missing items, but your clothing that you're wearing is unexplainable. Keep track of where you log off, and log back in where you logged off, so you can see if it was moved from where you actually logged off.

Please get back to us on this.

Summoned, shot, armored destroyed?

He logged back on quickly, he would probably still be in combat, have lost some SHP or be off his HF. Also force summoning doesn't force log off a player.

yes, the quern and chicken coop (and the winepress next to the coop too) was completely gone. like they never existed. strangely the barrel I had next to my winepress was left undisturbed.
all of this happened on my staked claim.
I suspected vandals with a strange sense of humor up until my leather armour ceased to exist
EDIT: just logged on. now a drying rack is gone. luckily it had no hides on it
also, I changed my password in case of account hacking

The clothes are unexplainable (btw what clothes?).
The quern, winepress and chicken coop could be vandalìsm: try buying ranging, turn tracking on and see if there are any scents of vandalism.
Drying racks decay when not on paved ground, even inside claim. Could also be vandalism.
Hope you have a great day

it was a leather armour.
granted I had taken a beating from a fox, but the armour was still intact when I was logged out
the drying rack was on unpaved ground. so I guess that was just natural decay then

EDIT: thanks to a local ranger we have determined that is was in fact vandals and thieves with strange priorities.
