Tips for New Players?

Postby StarCroc » Tue Jan 03, 2012 10:07 pm

Me and my friend have just started playing this game, So far we have a small campsite a cabin and a log house on the way.
The trouble is in the 2 days we have been playing, I have been eaten 4 times (2 by warthog, 2 by bear), and we got ganked by 2 guys who, I think, were the owners of the boat I found while walking down a river from our camp. (Found stole, What ever/ It was day 1 of playing)
Any tips for us? Helpful comments?

And I think someone is sleeping inside our cabin.

This is a wonderfully helpful guide.

As for the person sleeping in the cabin, that's really irrelevant. Break the bed and remake it if it really bothers you. It will not hurt the person who used the bed to sleep. It's also possible that you're the person sleeping in the bed if you used it last. It's a neat animation bug that happens if you sleep in a bed and start at your hearthfire.

It seems to be odd but theres an absence of rabbits, even though I unlocked hunting, all I see is foxes and bears, and ant hills.

just keep looking around, you'll find some eventually, just walk around to forage a bit or just explore.
Hope you have a great day

Does the http://havenandhearth.wikia.com/wiki/Skeleton "Threat" still stand? Say for intimidation reasons? Is there some sort of followed code by any big village that would be a good way to wain theifs?

Firstly, the wikia wiki is the outdated wiki, I advise you swap over to Ring of Brodgar (not your fault, the wikia one comes up first when searched).

To answer your question, skeletons don't exactly intimidate anyone who is so far as to have theft. You may end up scaring away a few noobs, but nobody who has the potential for significant damage.

Edit: Also I don't currently play ingame, but you could add me via Skype or Steam if you'd like for any questions.
