Which area is good to live?

Postby jupsto » Fri Jan 13, 2012 8:40 am

Gotta say this game seems almost only fun after a reset because eventually everywhere just gets developed and theres no/little wilderness left. Such a huge design flaws in this game; no claim decay/cost, too weak village decay, no natural tree growth = no regeneration of wilderness.

Bearing this in mind are there any known areas of the map left which are less inhabitated, where I can go and live without dozens of built up villages nearby? I feel like moving house to keep the game fresh, I want to go and hermit somewhere nice. everytime I explore I just see claims everywhere, even though I know most of them have probably quit the game, which is so lame. Am I best off looking at the edges of the map?

This area is pretty good to live in, when you find some villagers you can offer yourself to. I'm kidding, don't do that, evil hearthlings will kill you.

I'd suggest Southwest.

The crude map gen and the random spawning of new players mean the whole map is pretty homogenous.

Not really. I got to know most of the S and SW parts of the map. While I don't know of any major faction in those areas, there are asshats enough to ruin your day. Of course, this is pretty much true of any part of the world, so the big issue is carving out your own section of the world and not taking anyone's shit.
