Approx how long does it take for grassland to grow in a cleared area?

Its a process that's driven by randomness.
(I'm sure there is a very general average time, but I don't know it.)

- The bigger the cleared area, the sooner you get your first random Grass tiles.
- Plowing the ground(forest) seems to increase the chance for Grass tiles to pup-up. (No need to do the whole area. just plow a couple of single forest tile.)
-- And if you have some seeds, uses them to turn the plowed tiles directly into grassland.
- Take note that plowed (grass?) tiles will also give rise to Moor terrain. (plow again + plant grass, or Moor will take over your grass land.)
- After most are converted to Grass land, and it takes to long for you, do the Plow + Plant Grass to finish the job.

That's about what I know about this.

It seems like the grass then turns into hearthland after a long while. Is this true or has this something to do with another aspect? (like animals turn grass into mud)
Hope you have a great day

Animals eat the grass stomping it down to dirt, I've seen prairie grow on grassland right in front of my face slowly also

plowed moor turns into heath, it usually starts under whatever crops you have planted and you never notice til it really starts spreading

Recapping:

So it seems that any temporary terrain has a built in change of turning some terrains into a other terrain.
- Temp terrain types: Plowed, Dirt.
- Animals: alternative game method that generates temporary terrain tiles. (instead of actions by gamer.)
Transitions:
- Forest(both) -> Grass. (will also happen to forest terrain on its own when there is a lack of trees in the area.)
- Grass -> Moor.
- Moor -> Heath.
Chance:
- increases towards the 2e terrain, if there are more tiles of that 2e terrain type around a given (1st terrain) tile.

Others ...
