I dont want to seem like an idiot but i cant figure out how to install this game i cant figure out what file type it is and cant run what im guessing is the installer, autohaven. please help.

you're not an idiot, but simple when you click on Play on the site, choose "open" instead of "Save it".
is a java file, it run with java.

Honestly I'd go to the wizard's tower and download ender's client ASAP. People say new players shouldn't worry about it, but get it, turn on aggro radius and a few other options and it'll make life easier. It's much more forgiving if you have a screen that allows you to see 3 times as far and you can even see hostile mobs off screen thanks to a radar and an aggro radius if they are nearby (though I'd try to stay further than that as they can aggro outside the radius). That will save you from boars and bears about 3 times a day.

I wouldn't start playing straight away with Ender's. You defeat the purpose of learning to hate how things are done in the default client.
