A nice quick and easy video, took a while to make but hopefully it will help any new players who are confused on the matter.

Wow, that video was very well made, and very clear. Good work, seriously.

There is one issue I have with it though. Mouflon have small enough hit boxes to fit through the diagonal gap between signposts, contrary to what is stated at around 1:03. It is rare, and they often apparently have problems pathfinding it, but it is possible; this has happened to me on three different occasions. On all three occasions, the mouflon were NOT aggro'd; I do not know if this would make a difference.

As a result, in order to maintain 100% safety from a mouflon you are taming, it must be enclosed in a signpost fence with NO diagonal gaps. If you are attempting to utilize a boulder or tree as part of your design, you can place signposts unaligned to the grid by holding the shift key while placing it.

Even though there is no diagonal gap, the animal can still be accessed for combat/taming, in two ways. First, hearthlings are small enough to fit between two adjacent signposts if walking at just the right angle. And second, if you're lucky, the animal might be facing you at such an angle that will allow you to fight it even with a signpost between you.

Thanks ddhoward, Iv never had a problem with Mouflon getting through the diagonal but then again i have not tamed many. I do know it is possible for them to walk through the diagonal of fire build signs but I cant be sure if they can get through the fence ones. Anyone else had them pass through the diagonal? I don't want to get Hearthlings killed.

Glad you both enjoyed it. Iv been making Minecraft videos for a server but Haven and Hearth has proven to be a big challenge when it comes to getting a good looking video edited together.

Girl ^.^, no offense taken hehe. I try and keep my voice as neutral as I can when doing tutorial videos - its clearly working.

I record using Bandicam and then for the specific shots like the combat bar I will record over the full screen video just selecting that part.
Editing takes place in Corel VideoStudio Pro 4X - a really easy to use bit of software.
My voice over is recorded in Audacity in parts, cleaned up and then edited in.

Took quite a few hours to do (mainly just working out how to edit it all together and to get my voice over right (I struggle with talking).

Excellent video! The VO is great. (and Hazzor, how can you not tell?)

I expected to see something horrible when I clicked the link. But... I was surprised in a very positive way. The video is made in a very appealing fashion, the voice is very clear and it is not longer than necessary while containing all the relevant information (things I'd probably even have forgotten to mention, like not going into a house while taming). I liked the shopping mall music as well.
There is just a slight typo at the end where you typed "brake" instead of "break". However, all in all it's very good work you did there.

I also couldn't tell whether she's a boy or girl when I heard the voice initially but it became pretty obvious after watching the video some more. You'd still think Hazz0r could tell better, him being an englishman and all. :p
I'm still ashamed and embarrassed about my last post. There are many small reasons but no real excuse for what I said in the end. All that remains is regret because I won't be able to make up for it again.

See you in a different game maybe. Hopefully without retardation from my side.

It actually took a while to go through all the music I have access to (bought royalty-free music of course). I have a lot that is suitable enough for background music just very few that was right for the feel of the video (at least to my ears) so there was a lot of swap and changing. If you watch and listen to the beginning you can see that I tried very hard to match the beats with the transitions and movements on the screen.

As for the length I always try to keep my videos as short and as condense as possible. The video is for information and lets face it we all have problems retaining a lot at any one time. I cut out the waffle and just keep the syrup
