Unarmed Combat vs Melee Combat

Postby mattnoakes » Sun Jan 22, 2012 12:31 pm

So, iv gotten my marksman up to 50, exploration to 50 and can kill all animals with ease from a boat ;) . I guess i go into melee from here but my question is what path is good? if anyone has the time to give me a basic pvp/pve rundown of UC vs MC that would be great (currently planning on leveling MC as long as it isnt a huge mistake)

Simple answer is ~4 UA for every 1 MC. The reason being that you can get all of the utility out of UA, AND all the damage out of MC that way.

MC never directly affects weapon damage. It only affects how much of their defense bar you can eat (damage is dealt with the proportion of the attack value left after that). However, if you go UA it's better at eating defense bars and keeping your own alive. All you need is enough MC to punch through a tiny sliver of their def bar when you have them down and bam, nearly pure MC damage.
