As a new character, I'd be careful using black skills, they'll get you killed almost every time. Focus on avoiding bears.

Best believe im hunting from a boat for a while XD and I only used those black skills for getting back at thiefs etc. but yes I wont be using those black skills for sometime haha.
Tbh, when I was hunting the bear that killed me, I was drunk and didn't thoroughly think through about chasing down a bear

Who on earth told you that? Bears, boars, aurochs, mouflon, ants, trolls, foxes, and deer are all perfectly capable of killing you.

If your character is dead, then his/her name will not appear in your list of characters when you log in to your account. When you click on "New Character," there will be a runestone in the character creation room; read that to inherit a portion of your old character.

That is "kill you" because when you get "knocked down" you're already "KO."

It used to be that animals couldn't attack you again once you were knocked out. Now they have a chance of attacking you while you're unconscious, and if it's a heavy hitter like a bear, it will kill you. You're probably asking this because you were killed by an animal in this manner. Better luck next time.

I did die. I didnt know you could inherit your claim.
I also go a fair amount of skill/attributes and also over 60k LP. So i got almost all my skills back except rage, trespassing, thief and vandilism.
