Best way to catch plaice?

Whats the best way to catch Plaice? I'm a bit of a noob so I'm not sure exactly where i should be fishing or when, or what lure/bait i should be using.
The Wiki wasn't very reliable so I'm asking here instead.

Still though, when I fish in deep river on waning gibbous with a woodfish I dont get any Plaice. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not 100% sure how the moon works but an easy way is since fishing spots change daily, bring the most popular 3 baits, leeches, worms, and intestines, to a fishing spot and see what each one gets you per 3 fishes with it then fish with the preferred bait of the day.

In other words, if you REALLY want to find out how to catch which fish with what bait you will need a pen and some paper and make notes of what you caught in what type of water using what type of bait during what part of the day during which phase of the moon if it should apply. Welcome to H&H.
