Goldbeater skins Q?

Postby Gray » Thu Jan 26, 2012 6:29 pm

Does anyone know the goldbeater skins quality formula?

The variables are calfs intestinesQ, vinegarQ, waterQ, cauldronQ and maybe fuelQ.

Edit: Just made one 34intestines, 84 vinegar, 55 water, cauldron unknown and 101 fuel. It turned out q45.

Does anyone know what softcaps it? Doesnt seem to be cooking.

Fuel Q seems to be irrelevant.

So far nobody has figured out the exact formula, or if they have said it publicly.

Apologies but there's a slim chance you will get a response.

I just ran some calculations based on the figures you just gave, and a plausible one I came up with was: [(3 x intestine quality) + (vinegar quality) + (water quality) + (cauldron quality)]/6. As you weren't sure of your cauldron quality, I assumed it was around q30. If you have the resources to make a new one, the quality of which you'll be certain about, we could test if my hypothetical formula holds up.

Then again, cauldron doesn't have any effect on many recipes, only the water in it. Other times, just the opposite. There is no "standard" when it comes to using a cauldron.

I believe that it's at least Psy and Cooking that have an impact on it. Try it with/without a chef's hat and after a drink or two of wine and smoke of the pipe.

I never managed to figure out the formula, but I know that psy played a *big* part in the cap... Other than that I can't help, sorry :(

As cooking involves in alot of recipies it'll probably softcap thìs also.
Try making a plausible formula and try it out. Let us know what you've found so it can go onto the wiki
Hope you have a great day

Cooking does not play a role, im sure because I tested with char with 10 cooking and another 30 cooking, however psy is a possiblity.

Im sure there is someone with the formula to this. Either they havent had a chance to talk about it (like not finding this thread) or they are just holding onto that knowledge, because knowledge is power.

Had a character with 80 psy last world, made a goldbeaters skin for shits and giggles with terrible q everything and it still came out at around 45 ish. Psy is definitely a factor.
