Building doesn't work?

Okay, so.. I'm sitting by my hearth fire wondering how to build the easiest things and it keeps giving me the error, "The construction site has no available building material." I honestly have no idea what I'm doing, and I've looked at 3 different guilds and I'm still quite lost.

Anyone care to help a scrub?

just having materials in your inventory doesnt work for building.
you have to put the materials into the construction sign before you click "build" button.
either shift+click items or use your mousewheel to put the materials in it.

You need to collect the items shown and place them into the correct item slots



Example here: I have started a post for a log cabin and now I must collect the following items, as it shows so far I have placed 1 log out of 100, Therefore needing 99 left.
Once I have placed all the items into the post, then I can build it fully.
