Simple questions about combat

Question 1

If you hit someone with a skill (for example, Punch) and you manage to deplete their blue bar, what happens next with the damage to the shp? Is the damage the full damage that the skill Punch can do, or is it diminished by the blue bar that you had to deplete?

For example
Your punch skill has a damage of 50
If you deplete the blue bar with an attack strong enough to hit his shp, the damage to the SHP is 50, or is it 50 minus the blue bar?

I'm trying to figure if I must use Opportunity Knock until his blue bar is as low as possible, and then attack, or just lowering it enough to be able to hit his SHP with an attack

Question 2

If I'm trying to kill someone because he theft or destroyed anything on my property, should I use a ranged weapon or my unarmed skill to kill him if he is offline? I wonder this because the ranged weapons can hit the enemy directly, without being affected by his blue bar in the case that it's higher enough to block all my unarmed attacks.

Use punch to deplete Blue bar, and then use Sting , or Knock his teeth out

Kill him with either, he is offline so it really doesnt matter.

1) It's percentile based. So if you use up 70% of your Red Bar to deplete 100% of their Blue Bar, then 30% of your damage will carry over into the attack. There is one exception to this: If they have 0% Blue Bar left you will always do 100% damage to them even if you're attacking with 1% Red Bar.
2) If they're behind a wall, shoot them. If you can reach them, in my opinion, always go for melee. Fists are fast and swords kill quick.

that answers my first question. If I understood correctly, if I can hit him with a skill that removes more blue bar than he already has, I'll do 100% of the fist/weapon damage to his SHP. In other words, if I hit him with 50 points of damage, and he has 49 points of blue bar, I'll do 99 points of damage in total (49 to his blue bar + 50 to his SHP)

EDIT: Ok, sorry, I didn't got it as I thought. The blue bar diminishes the damage to his SHP

Depends on your stats how much you remove, but anyways
Punch is used to reduce blue bar, because it does not Cost IP points, and then you use a skill when he has no Blue bar , that does Cost IP
because they hit harder

I don't believe you understood that properly.

Lets say I have 50% Red Bar and 200 Unarmed Combat. My opponent has 100 Unarmed Combat and 100% Blue Bar but I catch them using Bloodlust. Bloodlust makes their defense effectively half of what it should be, so their Blue Bar only has 50 UAC backing it up. I Knock his teeth out with my 50% red bar. Half of my attack is used to break their defense and the other half breaks through to do damage. Normally Knock his teeth out does 2x Strength in damage but because only half of my attack got through, it's effectively doing 1x Strength in damage.
