FPS Problem

I just reformat my laptop, windows XP home edition. I downloaded java 6 update 30 thing, downloaded chipset drivers. but my problem now is, my fps keeps going from 15 to 8 to 15 to 8 to 15 etc..

This is very annoying and its going really slow. worked fine before formatting it. does anybody have an idea why this might happen?

by chipset drivers do you mean video card drivers

Welcome to alpha quality software. It will never be optimized. Unless you can remember what driver version or hardware settings you were using previously, you might be stuck with the frame rates.
