Animals and aggro

Postby PuppyPolice » Thu Feb 16, 2012 11:51 am

Hello guys! I have a little question about animals and their aggro.

If me and my friend are in a boat and we spot a bear. Say that my friend leaves the boat far from the bear, i as the marksman start shooting at the bear so it will aggro me, but to make sure the bear does not escape my other friend will go close to it, within aggro range and build fences around it.

Will the bear aggro my friend if he does this?

Yes. Best thing to do is set a fairly large trap somewhere and lure it there then close it out of range.

The bear won't run off if you ping it once (not even need to hit, just sling a stone at 0 chance) and stay somewhat near. If you have a problem with the bear running away when fighting it, it will almost Always re-aggro if you ping it again, and you can keep it from running away in the first place by firing right after it moves towards you or just firing slower (if you notice you've dealt ~100+ damage in less than 10 seconds, wait another 10 seconds before firing again). This works the same on Boars, Deers, Foxes, etc except that the critical damage point is less and that none of those will re-aggro on a second shot from my experiences, although Boars might and if Trolls ever flee (I doubt they do) then they probably re-aggro on a ping as well.
