Prospecting on Enders

I get a box that says "Direction _ , Delta _" What does this mean?

The direction of the ore below. with enders you will do a airow or something. thats much easyer :)

Recalling from memory, the direction number is the direction given in absolute value, and the delta is the size of the pie slice.

Pay attention to the pie slices which appear, they are a bigger help when trying to prospect or track.

Well can you explain it a little more. What specifically do the numbers mean, and the pie slice is bigger when closer? Smaller when further? What??
