Filetype not recognized

Postby BMRX » Tue Feb 21, 2012 12:39 pm

So I do have the most up to date version of Java, trying to play via the big play button at the top seems to do nothing. I don't even recognize the file extension my self. I've never seen JNLP before.

Anyways my PC cannot seem to find a way to run this game, I've tried opening it directly in Java but nothing. Suggestions would be great, I would prefer to play with the default client than a custom one.

EDIT/ I'm winging it, I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to Java so I'll be installing the JDK and trying to compile it. I doubt this will change anything but meh.
EDIT// Did some research before I downloaded anything, I now laugh at the idea of compiling it not sure what I was thinking. Though how to run this file type still eludes me, it should have just run when I clicked the link.

JNLP is a basic java file. Are you sure you have the latest version of java that's appropriate for your computer? It should run automatically if you have java installed.

I actually just did a massive uninstall/reinstall to clear up errors I was having with another site which worked great! This is why I'm so baffled.

I've heard too many great things about this game to give up now!

EDIT/ Ah, in file types turns out it was looking for javaws.exe in jre7 not jre6. Changed the directory and finally had an option in the popup window to run with Jave Webstart, this fixed my issue.

Easy to follow, spoon feed to the max.
