Silk making industry

Postby Loopoo » Tue Oct 06, 2009 12:47 pm

Can someone explain to me the process of Silk Making? I can't use the Wiki cause it disconnects my internet for some reason :C

Right now, I have a cauldron. What else do I need? And how do I actually make silk?

Thanks.

you need many chests, a mullb tree, and a couldron.

catch a male and a famle silk moth.
but them together in 1inventory.
they will produce 6 or 8 eggs (i forgot).
putt this eggs on a herb table. they will hatch to silkworms.

now you have to feed them. every worm eat 1mulb leaf every 12h.
the worms have to 4times a leaf. after that they got cocoons.
you can wind it out by using a couldron. if you are full nature you will get to silk filament. not full nature = only 1 filmanet. 10filmants = 1silk thread. 10threds = 1silk cloth.

you can put 7worm's into 1chest, fill that chest up with mulb leaf's and every worm is able to eat 4leafs in 48h. so you dont need to spend attention to this.

hope you understand it :(

VD, cheers man! It helped so much! So, when the little bastards cocoon, I cook em in a cauldron? :D

Also, is that 12h IRL time, or game time? So 8 hour RL time, yeah?

Thanks so much for the help man, it was REALLY clear :D Thank you ;)

Hatch your first batch of coccoons instead of unwinding the filaments. That way you will have replacement moths instead of relying on catching them.

How long do the little buggers last in an egg stage? How best to keep them from dying?

Eggs can hold forever. They're the only stable stage in silk production, so if you can't tend to your silkworks for a couple of days, you should get some eggs so you can freeze your silkworks.

Anyway, I think that at full industry you get 0 filaments, so get a full-nature friend to unravel the cocoons for you if you're full industry.

I'm going Nature.

What if i'm neutral, do I get hardly any filaments?

You get 1 filament. If you're in between neutral and one of the extremes, there's a random chance for 2 or 0 (depending on which side of neutral you are) proportional to the position of your slider.
