How do I find a spot to build a well?

Postby Sayfer » Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:27 pm

Sorry if there's already a post about this. I couldn't find one, but I might have just been searching for the wrong thing.

Anyways, I've been walking around the general area of my house with my dousing rod equipped for a while now and I can't find any of the "blue spots" that you're supposed to build the well on.

Does the rod have to have that radius up when you're searching for a spot or will I find them as long as I have it equipped?

Oh, and yes. I've been following the broad part of the pie.

you should be able to see all the water spots available as long as you have the rod equipped.

They can be tricksy. Don't forget that they can hide behind things, e.g. trees, so it's best to use a client where you can hide rocks, trees etc. - or else you end up having to hang around in the same area for ages, waiting for another pie slice to appear, and then start chopping down trees.

The 'puddles' (watery squares) should be visible at all times when holding the dowsing rod.

Distance apart is really variable - I've seen two within ten squares, and then nothing for the rest of the minimap. But I'd say at least one per default-client-sized minimap.

Hm. I'm using Ender's client, but the "hide" options seem to be broken. When I click them, it does nothing. There's also a problem with land management, where I have to use the default client to expand my land.

Do I have an outdated version of Ender's?

Thank you for the reply.

control+H for actually hiding. the control panel only lets you choose which to hide.
spots for wells shouldnt be too rare. (can be found quite a few within one map.)
