Why does the 3x3 method not give me a cave in?

The devs originally did that probably to allow people to get the first nuggets for a support safely. And jorb likes the idea of tunneling into an enemy's stronghold.
I think it's made of bubbles and hate.

It was a feature implemented in order to facilitate exploration and tunneling into enemy bases and whatnot.

From what I understand, when mining out a tile, the system checks for mined-out tiles behind the hearthling doing the mining. This system actually allows for roads 5 tiles wide to be created, provided that you are EXTREMELY cautious about which tile you are standing on when mining out a given tile.

Thank you for this post. Yet another person that remembers this statement. Some people are trying to get this changed: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=26031
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.
