Alone villager

First off,I didn't know where to put this but I had someone tell me I needed more villagers to occupy more roles. Another advantage would be in a fight, you can have back up. So my question is it really nessary to have a village with like 5
+ active people? Not including alts.

Not really. If the 5 active players can cover everything that needs to be done, then the only thing that is going to increase your chances of survival from a raid is going way up, 20-30+ active players. What will help you more is to practice good security: proper brick walls, don't carry keys, use crossroads when available, etc.

Between me and 3 other people we had a nicely functioning group in W5 (admittedly we had an amazing farmer who covered the load of 2).

As MagicMan said, spare bodies are mostly helpful to defend raids, but aren't that necessary if you defend properly. For the most part, additional villagers just changes the magnitude of production.

Only time will tell.

I'd love to chat but this not the right place to do so.

Take care and let's let this thread die down =)
