Taking over Idols

Alright so I have a question about becoming the lawspeaker of places.
At least 6 times now I've found a bashable idol (one that I can break with under 50k auth) and I've never been able to take the idol over. I leave my village, renounce any statuses I may have, and nothing. Can anyone explain this? In some cases, I've killed the lawspeaker and still could not take over. The current idol I've found, I know for a FACT does not have a LS, and auth is below 50k. I do have lawspeaking and I have tried on several alts. wat do?

The only thing I can contribute is that I have recently overtaken an idol which was at 0 auth, had villagers, had no LS and I didn't even need to leave the village I was currently in. Idol was red when I was doing so. And the villagers who were in that village are still in and I see them as my villagers ^^

The village must not have any member of villagers to take over the idol. I assume you have lawspeaker. The only that can be done is to destroy the idol really.
