Unclaimed decayed palisade

Postby Vengent » Mon Mar 12, 2012 12:01 am

Does a palisade that's almost decayed still require full strength to destroy?

the first 25damage you do to it per hit gets disolved without any effect.

so even if it has 1 health you need to do 26damage in a hit to take it down.

Thanks! So does damage = strength? How can you tell how much damage you're doing? Don't see anything in messages.

Yup, I read it entirely before posting, it doesn't mention decay.

your str in square root is how much damage you do

so 9 str = 3 damage (3x3 = 9)

etcetc

A structure's soak, such as a palisade's 25 soak, does NOT change based on the decay.

Decay is just natural damage inflicted over time, that presumably bypasses soak. Other than potential soak bypass, damage taken through decay is no different than damage dealt by a hearthling.

If a palisade is heavily decayed, you will still need the same amount of strength to do damage it as you would a newly built palisade. However, the decayed palisade has much less HP, meaning that you are essentially given a head start on the destruction.

A player with his bare hands needs to bypass all 25 soak by himself; he needs (25*25)+1 = 626 STR to do even 1 point of damage.

A player using an axe has 1 automatically added to the damage. Therefore, he only needs to bypass 24 soak himself. He must have (24*24)+1 = 577 STR to deal even 1 point of damage.

A player using a sledgehammer has 4 damage added. Therefore, he only needs to bypass 21 soak himself. He must have (21*21)+1 = 442 STR.

Thank you, that's the part I wasn't sure about, if decay was involved or not.
