Study (clothing?)

Postby gamer30 » Mon Mar 12, 2012 9:15 am

In the wiki it says you can study things, like the cone cow, which I did. It also suggests you can study the clothing you receive when creating a character, or even later. With my clothes unequipped and in my inventory, I drag them to the study grid. Nothing happens. Is this bugged?

Why else do you think Nao kills people for their pants? Best and easiest curio to get in game. Keep trying.
Yes, I am a Wizard.

HarryDresden, Please do not troll HDI.

To the OP, I have no idea where you read that you can 'study clothes', which would seem to be .... wrong. What you can do is discover them, and get the one-off bit of LP for them. To do that, put them on, then shift-click them from your equipment screen so that they go into your inventory. Doesn't work on shoes, and I can't remember about hats. Pretty sure it does work with torches, and all sorts of strange things like smithy's hammers. And there's a nice little series of 63 LP for you (you have changed your personal beliefs towards 'peaceful', haven't you?).

It doesn't say that you can study them, but it does say that you can get discovery LP for them.

As you're probably aware, you get LP for "discovering" something. The first time you picked a branch, slaughtered a rabbit, or dug some dirt, you got a small amount of LP. The same can be said for your clothing. If you shift-scrollwheel your linen clothing from your equipment window into your inventory, you will get 50 base LP for discovering linen.

EDIT: Beat to the punch...

Ah, sorry it wasn't study it was "discover," you're right. So you're saying I have to put them on, then take them off to discover them? Ah, tried it and it works. Thanks for that!

This works because your "basic" linen clothes also count as cloth so you can use them to make torches or other various items that require cloth.

I think Nao is just collecting them all to build village banners...

This idea is genius. Also; He's taking the land, one set of trousers at a time.
