Theft scents

I just logged back on and someone has stolen a boat and some crates from outside the walls but still on my village claim - i'm not that bothered to be honest but when i click on 'track hearth' it says the perp doesn't have a hearth. How do they not have a hearth? What exactly does that mean?

Thx in advance to any replies - its gone 1am here so i'm off for the night, if someone is kind enough to explain i will respond tomorrow.

Though it meant he has no hearth. Either someone destroyed it or he did.

it means his fire's gone or he's dead.

if he's online when you track him he's probably dead.

Right-click the ground with the scent. Choose Force Summon. If he appears, kick his ass. If it says he's dead, then he's dead.

Thanks, lol, i knew it meant his 'fire' was gone - i was more getting at 'how was he playing without a hearth' - but it was late i was tired and it didn't occur to me at the time that he or someone else had destroyed it.

Nor did i consider he might have died, feel bit silly now, i shouldn't post when i'm tired.

I wish it would tell you right away if someone's dead. I once tracked someone across 3 SGs to find a pile of wood and a skeleton.
