WHERE ARE THE CHICKENS?!

I just started playing today, and after all I searched through, I found the root of ALL of my problems.
Chickens.
Bones, more specifically, but i'm not picking a fight with anything other than a chicken or a rabbit.
I've seen one rabbit in my ~5 hours of play so far.
Not a single. Chicken.
I've done it on 6 or 7 different characters.
No chickens.
I'm here to ask, how do I solve this problem?
I've searched everywhere looking for one, or a dead boar to mooch a bone from.
Also, what do I do the meantime? Considering I have everything I could possibly build at that point already built...

Chickens can be found only on grassland, moor or heath.
Rabbits are easier to find.

I've found neither. Well, I did see one rabbit, for a split second. But what should I do in the meantime?

Try exploring for a bit and try to find some moor (yellow terrain on the minimap). Moors are goldmines for chickens and foxes, usually having 2 or 3 groups on one depending on your luck.
