Few questions

So Im quite new to the game and im wondering if you guys could spare a moment of your time to help me. I don't really understand how the whole item crafting system works.
Like I want to build a bonesaw, which the ingredients are a bone and a branch, and I have the items just it does not show up in the crat menu for me. same goes for the buildings.
Also how does the upgrading certan skills like carpentry, work? does it unlock the next tier of buildings to be made or the quality of the item produced?

You have to discover the materials first. Which means, for a bone saw, you have to collect a branch, and butcher a rabbit. All by yourself!

Skill values do NOT unlock anything but some of them affect quality of items. Skills (Hunting, Baking etc) do.

To build/craft you must first discover the ingredients. The very first time, you must get them yourself, not get them from other people or baskets. For example, the bonesaw, you must pick a branch from a tree and kill a rabbit or chicken, then butcher it to discover bone (you need hunting to get rabbits or chickens). Then you should have the craft option unlocked within your menu. Click craft > tools > bonesaw. It will say craft or craft all. Click craft.

Upgrading skills allows you to farm/cook/craft higher quality items. For example, raising your farming skill allows you to harvest better quality products and seeds.
