Questions about Mouflons

Can you fence in Mouflons and they won't despawn? I'd like to keep this herd until I can safely tame them. And also, can they walk through hills? I've seen some animals walk clean over hills.

For the first part,I think they will despawn unless tamed or some one stays by them 24/7 but i could be wrong.

Ya, they'll despawn if no one is with them for 15-20 minutes. They cannot walk through hills, only rabbits and chickens and the like can.
