Trouble Building Palisade Gate

Why can't I build a gate? I'm not getting an option anywhere that lets me build one. This is the palisade in question.

You need to have a 2 tile gap then a cornerpost. Either extend your wall around from the initial cornerpost, or if need be create a second initial cornerpost (however it will need to be sealed before extending the wall further in this situation)

I think what AP is trying to say here is to make sure to extend off your CP before you seal it. Once you extend the wall, make sure to seal it immediately so you don't forget about it later. You only need one unsealed post to build your gate.
