Best progression path for a fighter?

Postby grimdark » Wed Mar 21, 2012 5:19 am

Currently I have 20UA, 52 MM, 20EXP and 38 SUR. I'm trying to be a combat/fighter type, with a ranger track-and-kill playstyle (eventually)

I have a bunch of LP coming in, but I have no idea which skill I should raise first. I have a goal of 100MM so I stop sucking with a bow, but should I go straight for that or get my UA up to 50 or so first? Should I get my EXP or SUR any higher? I have 33x20 EXP so I'm pretty good at finding most of the curios I need to be finding.

In short, do I level my MM to 100 for get other stats up to par with that, instead? And which ones first?

I'm also wondering if I should spend the LP on combat skills now and start learning the combat system, or save that for later.

Thanks for any advice.

Also I just got a bronze sword and I'm wondering if I should raise my melee combat skill as I've heard bows suck in combat. Good idea?

You need at least 300 UA or MC, 400 preferable, to fight people besides your average boar tusk helmet 30 UA nooblet.

You'll need around 200 MM to use a bow at a decent level

And you'll need healthy amounts of strength, agility, constitution, and perception.
Of another era.

If you don't have access to Quality 90+ B12, don't bother using MC, your str/peasfool status will probably only hinder you and you'll be dinging 0's most the time. That said, I'd carry a sword/axe just to use Valorus Strike in case you need to reset the advantage fast.

IMO dump all your LP into UA at the moment until you have high Q weapons/350+ str/martial as you won't break the Armor rating of most people. At least with UA you bypass armor a little bit and will be able to damage your opponent :P

My advice if you want to learn combat is take this world as a learning world and don't rage when you die, which will happen as there are some monsters out there ;)
