Remove Village idols

Is there any way to destroy it?
Yesterday we made a new village directly next to the old idol, but the old one still burns and covers most of the area, making it impossible to do anything on that land.
I think everyone left the village if i remember correctly, so there shouldnt be a single citizen in it.

Was Lawspeaker of Macomb in W2.

Have you tested this? I've seen the idol - and claim - still working fine in a village whose lawspeaker had drowned. I don't know whether he was the _founding_ lawspeaker, mind you.

Non removable at the moment. But I hope we can bring some, sorely needed, updates to the village system soon.
