Question Marks Where I Should Have Items

Postby spavaloo » Thu Mar 29, 2012 9:00 pm

I raided an ant hill, and got two soldiers and a question mark. Later, when going through an abandoned log cabin, the only thing in one of the wicker baskets was another question mark. I know these are supposed to be items, but the icons have stayed question marks for multiple hours now, and I don't get an item name when hovering over the icon.

Is my perception too low? I don't quite know whet the issue is, unless it's a bug.

It's definitly not a game feature. Sound like your client is having problems displaying graphic resources. First thing to try would be another client, if you're using vanila try ender's and if you're currently using ender's try vanila one.

I've had it on rare instance even in Enders. It tends to go away however with a little time. I really don't know about it last hours. Have you tried reducing system graphic load and see if that impacts anything.

Thanks for the tips, but the problem resolved itself. All good now.

It means the item is loading. Sometimes the client refuses to load items.

If the client is being slow to load items, just log out and back in. The problem usually corrects itself immediately. (Options>log out or type ":lo")
