Something destroyed my hearth fire.

I have a small personal claim with a timber house on it. In front or the house, blocking the door, I have my hearth fire. This is right about in the middle of my claimed area. I went out foraging and when I tried to hearth to return it said "You have no hearth fire to travel to." Could someone have destroyed my fire on my claim to get into my house? I'm still low level so I can't track scents yet but I also didn't notice anything missing from inside my house and I haven't seen anyone in the area. I'm far enough inland that I can't been seen from any water either. Maybe a random bug? To tell the truth I can't remember if it was there when I logged in or not, its not something I think about checking.

Somebody destroyed your Hearthfire in order to loot your house, or they used an animal to.

Sounds like it was just a player smashing your HF to get inside, Seems he got inside and saw nothing of real value and then left.

I would keep your HF away from your door, As anyone who wants to get inside (with the right skills) is going to get inside whether you like it or not, You might get unlucky next time and not be able to find your way back. If you really want to keep your stuff safe then I suggest making another character to hold things of value and log him off.

On further inspection it appears that they ran off with my boat, which I haven't used since I moved to this place. Kinda useless really, I'm quite a walk from any water. Welp, guess the palisade is my next project then. Thanks for the info.
