Forges and repairing and other noob questions!

Postby dariun » Fri Apr 06, 2012 12:06 pm

Hi all, happy Easter!

Just had a few questions really :)

1) Finery Forge: it used to take only 1 lump of coal to power now it seems to take 2 to complete a batch of 9 cast iron. Is this a repair issue or a bug?

2) Repairing: if lets say I have a Q20 forge and I use a q10 brick to repair would that impair the Forges quality? What about other repairables? (palisades, ovens, kilns, anvils etc)

3) Clay spots: how long does it take for an area of clay to regenerate its quality? Also, I seemed to have exhausted a spot of q10 clay, will that regenerate over time or not? :-S

4) Does having an equipments "inventory" open (right clicking an oven/kiln/crucible so that the door is open) affect it's cooking/smelting time?

Many thanks!

As I'm in a hurry and do not have time right now to answer all 4 questions I'll answer only that one:

No

Quick edit:

Repairs do not influence quality.

Nodes regenerate with time, though I do not remember how fast.

2) No effect at all.
3) It will regenerate over time and I've heard conflict reports between 2-7 days.
4) Nope.

1. With all ovens, smelters, etc.: If you put items in and they set for a bit, you eventually get to where it only takes one fuel to "bake" the batch. This is a known bug and will likely be fixed with the major development currently not being worked on. Note that it doesn't work with Steel Crucibles. And yes, 2 has always been the required fuel for the Finery Forge.

3. Word is that all nodes regenerate one quality point every 8 hours (every game day). A quality 20 node can recover in under a week, but it could take a q90 node a month or more to completely recover.
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

put 1 coal in the finery forge , wait 10 mins, and light it, = profit

repair doesnt effect QL for anything

Natural resources regenerate 1 QL every game day.

and feel free to open things while its cooking, doesnt hurt it
