Mid and high ql stones and their rareness

I always wondered how rare are say 40ql or 70ql stones. Never stepped across any of the nodes.

It's not so difficult to find q40 stone node (those nodes are not uncommon).

Maybe i wasn't trying hard enough...
So tell me how often do you stumble across q40 nodes when you are scanning the mountain?
Like number of q40+ nodes/scan attempts.
I'd be grateful.

When you smelt ores, you get stones of equal quality to the metal.

Also, I found a q98 stone node last world. It was glorious.

They're not that uncommon they're just a bitch to check for. If you live around 2-3 mountains then it shouldn't be hard to find a q50+ node if you take the time to check.

I very rarely dig in mountains. Let me think, of last 3 mountains 1 was q45+, 1 was q30+ and the last I do not remember (but wasn't even q30).

The stones you chip in caves (and mines) have quality, too! Check those and you might get a big surprise. Found q85+ in a cave in w5.
