Where am I?

I've seen this world map linked many times in these forums, but I've never seen any explanation on how to use it.

Is there a way to find your coordinates in game and match it with the map? I can't imagine being able to find where I am just by looking at geographical features so I figured there must be some system for finding your location in the game for reference. I thought that Ender's client may have such a feature but if it's there I haven't found it.

If I do need to search the map based on geography, I could maybe find where I am if I had a general idea of where to look. I know that I am directly north of a very large claim called "Dis". Also, from boating around and finding the edges of the world, I think I'm in the northeast.

Anyways, I thought I should find out exactly where I am so I can do some trading...I'm making progress but I badly need some high quality building materials, like clay, wood and metal and I've collected some flotsams that I hope I can make some trades with. I've been playing for two weeks now and have not yet seen any other players =\

You do need to find it based on geography and Dis is huge so that'll be somewhat helpful. Identify major landmarks in your area and then scan the map for them. Hopefully someone can tell you extra which grids Dis occupies.

It was a pain but I found myself on the map. Turns out I'm not in the northeast after all. I can see now that the river system I have been navigating only covers a small fraction of the world

The Hearthlands are truly massive. Not sure how they stack up to something like Daggerfall but I know they're huge.
