Animal attack range?

Postby zyn3 » Sun Apr 15, 2012 7:42 pm

Hey!

I'm running around, raiding ant hives and such. I do the trick by raiding, running to the water and let them know they can't get me, then I go back and raid it.

I found out, that I can go out in 1 tile of shallow water, which is the shortest range of shallow water around the coast, and they can't get me from there.

Though, I was wondering if I could do the same thing with a boar, bear and fox? Or do they have a longer range of attack?

Their attack range is about 1 tile. It's a little hit or miss if you're in one deep shallow water though. I like to use diagonal tiles for it where possible.

But do all of the animals have the same attack range, then?

Indeed they do.

But must other animals will follow you out in the the water right? This trick only works on ants - right?

You can't use it to get a boar to stop attacking you right?

Animals will constantly try to attack you each 10 second cycle. You can see this happening when they twitch.

I saw my brother doing the same thing with boars and foxes, but he went out farther, cus there was more shallow water. I just hadn't seen him do it on 1-tile shallow water, so that's what I was wondering :)

The animal can still reach you across one tile shallow though.

Thank you for the tip - so newbes (thats me) if confronted by an angry boar or bear - run to the sea :)
