Login Problems

Postby leezer » Mon Apr 16, 2012 5:54 pm

I know I am probably going to get some hate for this but I really cannot find a solution for this even though I think it is likely in the forums somewhere. I have just tried playing the game today for the first time but every time I try to login to the game the window just says authenticating for a few seconds then it just go backs to login screen and says Connection timed out: connect. I have just searched through the forums for some time and haven't found the solution. All posts I found seem to relate to problems with custom clients and the only fix they gave was to use the launcher on the site which is what I am using. Thank you in advance.

Check the home page at the bottom. If there are server issues, it will usually say it's crashed (or shut down, etc). Otherwise, you could have something on your end blocking a connection.

I've been keeping an eye on the server status and it was down earlier but it seems fine now. Do you know of any common problems that may affect my end or anything that might help the situation?

Ok when I open the game from the site I get straight to a window saying connecting which then goes black and I get an error message. Again any known fixes for this?

Right if anyone else has this problem I have solved it by using a custom client although I dare say I'll have issues later :D Thanks anyway MagicManICT

That's a server issue, animepunkface. That I'm aware of, there really isn't much of a workaround for it. If you've been using Ender's client, then it's possible to avoid this by using a graphics pack or having the complete resource file needed for the graphics. Otherwise, the game tries to pull graphics from the server and this is what's crashing it. (This is my understanding of what's happening and I could be wrong, so take my advice with a grain of salt.) Someone that knows how it works might be able to explain it better.
