Fast travel & Item placement

Postby dariun » Mon Apr 23, 2012 2:07 am

Hi all

Sorry if these questions have been asked before, it's late and I wanted to ask rather than search the whole site

1) Fast travel - how does it work? I know it causes travel weariness for both travelling to your HF and Village and that you can always travel to your HF regardless. My question is what other factors affect fast travelling and the travel weariness percentage caused by each type (HF, cross road or Village).

I recently fast travelled back and forth from my HF and village and noted it took about 11% each time. I then went travelling a long long way only to find I could not travel to my Village, I was on 34% travel sickness. I could travel to my HF so I did that and noticed my travel sickness shot up to 96%! Is this normal?

Does anything else affect fast travel?

2) Item placement - is there any way to change the direction items face? e.g. crates you can stack up alongside the E side of a Timber house to get several crates but for straw crates you can only get a few due to their positioning, can you change this?

Many thanks! :)

Your agility directly affects how much TW is added during travel. It's calculated by direct route distance from one point to another. You'll always be able to travel to your HF regardless of how much TW you have, but travel to your HF will still add TW to your meter, up to 100%.

Only certain items are able to be placed in varying directions. Most of these are movable objects such as carts/plows/boats/etc. The only static item that has more than one direction is the chair, and its direction is determined by the direction from which you set it down. A chair will always be placed facing directly in front of your character.

thanks Cobalt...

another question...since agility affects the amount of TW added upon fast travelling does that mean travel distance is capped by agility? I.e. you can only wander so far before you can NOT travel back to your village even if you have 0% TW?

EDIT: is there a minimum TW for fast travelling regardless of how close you are to your Village/HF?
