Why i cant find ore?!

I will like to know why i cant find any ore...what is it that i nee to do to find it...i have like 1 week going around in a cave mining everywhere but i dont find anything just rock, rock and more rock..plz help me

Try using the prospecting skill This will help you find the ore on the below level you are prospecting on. I would go into detail, but the wiki article covers it all )

It has occured to me that you might not have the str or materials to get to the level below. The only other option would be prospecting above ground or just mining in random directions until you hit ore.

There are some techniqqqques you can use to make mining easier, one method to note is called snake mining.



Above is the sekrit techniques, each black square is one tile in game, the arrows are the way your character MUST be facing while mining. The white squares are un mined tiles. Apologies for the rushed image

also if your "blind mining" try this.


Go every 8 paces and mine until you either get ore or a rock. then go on 8 paces and rinse and repeat until u find ore.

I mine like that is just i didnt knew that with prospecting i can find where exactly is ore but tyvm for the quick reply

Try, try again. Also, NEVER prospect in the same spot. You will always get a "no minerals here" if you prospect within 5 tiles of the same spot and previously got a "no minerals here". Also be aware that there is always a random chance that you'll get the "No minerals here" message, even if you're on to some metal (previously got an arrow).

3-tiles "snake" digging not so effective as:

2-tiles "snake" digging. In this case you can remove 1 tile juts later and in finally you get 2 tiles tunnel. Enough for cart and more quick than previous method.

But now I like extremal 1-tile digging: dig tunnels of 1 tile width. If you know how to do this, you can do it without cave-ins and can make turns if need.
For this method you must set slowest character speed, place your miner exact in to the corner of last tile (slowest speed help to do this) and dig.
I dig such tunnels without cave-ins.

Blind mining works in caves. You cannot mine on ground level.
