Crossroad Spawn Radius

How big of an area around crossroads can you spawn?

I was going to put a crossroads in a palisaded minehole to avoid needing keys, but am thinking I may not always spawn inside the palisade.

When teleporting to a crossroad, you shouldn't land outside of your palisade as your destination is restricted from going over non-traversal tiles. This was added in to prevent crossroads from being used as a wall-jump exploit.
