[Attention - newbie question] Map borders

Postby Bonds » Tue May 01, 2012 5:15 pm

Welcome, Earth's citizens!

The question is: "are there any map borders?" Is HnH map endless or is there a place where one cannot go (an invisible/visible wall)? To say it more clearly - If i go in one direction then... will I find an edge of HnH virtual world?

Enlighten me, please!

Yes, The Hearthlands is a gigantic square with North, South East and West boundries. they are invisible and you can see more world beyond but not go to it.

Furthermore the world is made of supergrids. Lakes and rivers never cross between supergrids. Supergrids are made up of 2x2 quadrants, which are made from 5 x 5 regions, which are made from 5x5 local maps, which are slightly smaller than a minimap. You can make maps with the Cartography skill, ink, a quill and parchment, or you can be a bag of dicks and use algeraliths world map, long may he rot in hell for his technically impressive achievement that destroys a minor game mechanic.

The base terrain is coniferous forests, with large patches of deciduous forests. Pasted on top are large networks of rivers punctuated by penis shaped lakes. Penis shaped mudflats, swamps, marshes, grassland, mountains etc are also pasted around.

You're so right, my friend! It looks like HnH is a simulation of tribes using GPS and communication devices - they can even teleport! Dammit, this game should have another name, like... Star Trek Hearth?

Where are the spaceships?! :D
