I'm completely lost

I was hoping I could avoid having to make a new post but I'm just out of options...

I've looked around in the forums and I still can't figure these three things out

how can i tell where i am,

is there a global chat room (the one listed in the newb guide didn't work )

and finally... where IS everyone!? i've been wandering aimlessly for hours and i'm starting to feel like the last man on Hearth! the skeletons don't help either

Finding people isn't exactly the best thing in HnH; as it's been repeated several times, the game wants you dead. A whole lot of people are hostile ingame and would kill you with little reason, but a whole lot would also help you out and help toughen you up. That's....partly the problem... i have no idea where i'm at... so how can i find anyone else?

i've tried the map but it's so freaking huge unless i can generate cordinates in-game i'll NEVER find myself @_@

Why is it important to you to know where you are?

...um...i honestly never thought it WASN'T important... i can't find myself on the map so how can i figure out which direction to walk to some sort of civilization?

Any civilization you find will likely want nothing to do with you. You should be focused on creating your own civilization, not finding others.

I'm beginning to think a more appropriate title for this game would be Heaven or Hell

If you would like to play with other players then there is an entire section of this forum for finding people to play with. However you shouldn't really be actively seeking out other players in-game unless you know what you're looking for.

first off, go search for a mountain AND the nearest thicket, then look for a match on the map via distance between the 2
second DONT LOOK FOR PEOPLE, they will murder you. easily and happily
third, download enders client (and the update) for the global chat
