How do I find a Cavebulb ?

Im looking at the wiki, but couldnt find enough information on how and where to find a cavebulb, what to look for and the game mechanics details.

Do I need any special skill?
Do I have to go to a certain type of terrain?
Do I need to have any tools to find a cave?
Can I make a cave?

Caves are found in cliffs where you can see the whole cliff. They're fairly rare, so it takes some exploration to find one. Close to RoB most caves are claimed and/or walled I think, but you have a good chance of finding one if you boat over to the other side of the river, as this area has been inaccessible to most people until recently.
