How do I know were I am?

Hi! I want to know were I am, coordinates, a bigger map and so. I have seen many world maps were it is completely impossible to find yourself. If it helps Im using Ender client.

the best way i know is to find the nearest mountain, and then the nearest thicket, and work out the distance and find it on the world map, since neither thickets nor mountains are nearly as abundant as say, a lake.
i really need to find a good signature

Find huge lake or large cluster of lakes. Or do what ^ said. Or both. (best option)
