Ram bug

Postby Cranny » Wed May 16, 2012 11:52 pm

Hi every one,

Im pretty new to the game and since Im playing here Im getting paranoid about security.
Thanks in advance who ever answers me. :D

1.-
I am finally Im starting my brickwall and I read a lot about ram bug abuse.
Only positive thing I have read to prevent it, is that we need to enlarge our claim way over the limits of the brickwall.
So im asking, is there anything else (besides enlarging the claim) we can do to prevent ram bug against our wall?.
Im not against raids, even I do not do them myself, I know they are part of the game, but I would not like to be subject of bug abuse.

2.-
About alts, I learned already they are very usefull to safeguard stuff into their inventory, which I started to do after my first pearl was stolen.
What about stuff that we can not place into the inventory, like a loom. Is there any safe way to guard them?.
I have thought about placing signs at the bottom of the staircase at the cellar, but my house has already been demolished
So... anyone knows a way to safeguard liftable objects?.

 Good luck to all.

Hello, cranny.

If you check 3 threads below yours it's about ram bugs. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=27693

So you might be able to find more details there.

About your second question, I don't think there is any safe way to protect liftable objects. I also honestly think they should fix the problem of alt vaulting because that doesn't feel right... (like many other things in the game that could be considered "exploits"...)

Thx Graal for yr answer. :D

I dont like alt safeguarding, i think it is kind of an exploit same as you do, also it is a lot of work be logging out and in to feed curios and use valuable objects several times a day.
But it does not seem to be any other way to do it, unless you are an experienced player and can make strong boxes?, and Im thinking now, what happens with strong boxes if the house is demolished?.

I dont like either to use an alt with no HF to make trades, seems to me it is abusing game mechanics. But I dont find another way to make deals for big amounts of items, which are the only ones new players are able to do. My first trade was 2500 bricks for a nice saw, I was really slow at that time with the few commands I knew, just imagine it.

Another thing to consider is the use of signs, they make places ugly in a game with stoning graphics, and I believe they where not designed for storing or safety purposes.

I sure hope GMs can come up with some nice ways of solving this things in next world. :D

Thx again.
