plowing swamp

How time consuming exactly would plowing an island in the middle of a mega swamp be? and would it be worth building, what I'm trying to ask is can a ram drive through a swamp and is a trudging through a swamp deterrent enough to stop most raiders?

A ram can but it'll kill it after only a step or two, making it more worthwhile to pave a path through the swamp. A swamp is not deterrent enough to stop most raiders.

Okay thanks, but if i do make a swamp fortress in a mega swamp what are the chances someone will wander through a few grids of swamp to find it?

quite frankly if i dont see anything of interest on my minimap and im not foraging then ill just skirt around swamps so in my opinion if its not near water then the middle of a swamp is a good place to put a fortress type area
