Trapped between aurochs and water, how do I get out

So I foudn soem aurochs near the water and pulled out an aurochs hair, and ran to the water. Now the whole herd is trying to attack me and if I move at all I will die. It won't let me teleport to my hearth fire. How do I escape from this? Edit: I also have only 18% full and no food so I might starve if this lasts too long

The best thing you can do, without a boat, is to walk in the shallows of the water far enough away to where the Aurochsen de-aggro you.

And no, he's not dead if he logged out while still standing in the river.

I just did this and got away, and made it back home with a q20 aurochs hair.
