How do i even start hunting?

I have learned the skill, but i cannot craft a sling or anything. Is there anything I'm missing?
Also, on another note, I have looked them up, but it seems you like you cannot study anything, unless you have a furnace, or some other things. I have just started, where can I find these things that i can study?

Did you discover string (easily discovered by foraging taproot/nettle) and leather (take leather from tanning tub)?

Not sure where you heard about requiring a furnace to study. The way you are able to is to open your character window (shortcut ctrl T) click the second icon of a candle and a book, and drag the curiosity into the box. If you wish to know more about the curiosity system, you may wish to reference this wiki page.

Thanks, for the studying thing. But, Don't i need hunting to get leather and so on and so forth?

You need the skills hunting -> animal husbandry -> leather working. You will also lumberjacking -> carpentry to make boards to discover board for the tub itself.

Okay then, One more thing, sorry, I found two deer and a fox. Can I kill them without a sling/bow. I have an ax, and have hunting.

I wouldn't try it.

Deer will definitely mess up your day.

Take on foxes when you get a sling, and like 20MM(from a boat, or fence them in with round pole fence)

No, I cannot get a sling. I cannot get leather because I cannot kill things for the sling. Can I just kill something? If not, how do ever get leather?

Judging from the fact that you probably have no combat skills and 1 UA, probably no and will probably die in the attempt until you are familiar with the combat system. Until then, you are probably going to have to find a rabbit, catch it, and kill it.

I will leave the combat system link just in case you wish to become familiar with close combat.

Catch bunnies, you should be able to find one or two every once in a while. Walk up to it and be pretty much touching it and right click on it, if you have a 4x4 empty space in your inventory you'll get a rabbit, right click wring neck, then butcher and you'll get meat, a bone, and hide, then you take the hide to a drying rack, let it dry for a while. After it's done and clean you can build a tanning tub from 3 boards (you'll need to craft a saw from the bone you got) then fill the tub up with 60L of water (6 buckets) and 1 tree bark, toss the bunny fur in there and it will turn to leather after a while.

There is also a % glitch you can exploit for tubs if you put them into a container such as a boat/cart which will make leather production easier(92% done).
